What is it?
The lymphatic system is a system comprising lymphatic capillaries, lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes. It complements the cardiovascular system and, together with the venous system, is responsible for the removal of water, colloidal protein solutions, fat emulsions and waste products from cellular metabolic processes from the organs and tissues, whilst also performing a protective function for the body. The application of manual lymphatic drainage leads to a general improvement in the body’s condition; toxins are eliminated, circumference and oedema in the limbs are reduced, and trophism, respiration, metabolism and the appearance of the skin, cellulite is reduced and blood circulation is stimulated.
